Thomas & Gundy 52-56: Note that Matthew reports his formal Calling later on. However, while there was lots of preaching going on in Gennesaret. Matthew was taking notes all the while. Jesus got back from the Gadarenes and calls Matthew, and he has his joyous dinner party immediately following. He is to be listed as "One of the Twelve" very soon. For the sake of argument, let us say that in view of Matthew's gospel being the first circulated (reckoned by the other Gospel writers as the definitive work on many of Jesus' sermons), and in view of Matthew's Christian Humility, and Luke's stated purpose to "put in order" these evets, we can accommodate moving Matthews own account of his calling here in AD 27 without great discomfort..

The fifteenth of Nisan begins Hag HaMatzah (the Feast of Unleavened Bread), which is a high sabbath, a shabbaton. It is a seven day feast to the L-rd. The day following the sabbath during Passover is called the Feast of First Fruits (Leviticus [Vayikra] 23:10-11).
